The tolerance test used in the CarboCeption App has a strong scientific basis: a questionnaire which was developed by university based physician scientists for the measurement of symptoms which can occur after ingestion of carbohydrates (adult carbohydrate perception questionnaire, aCPQ).
Symptoms are measured on a scale, the ends of which represent extreme conditions of a symptom.
- Symptoms are measured repeatedly before and after taking a test substance or a test food.
- The severity of the symptom is marked.
Prepare your test substance and measure the amount you want to test with a cup or table spoon or select according to serving size.
The CarboCeption App will lead you through the following steps:
- You measure your baseline symptoms that are present before drinking the test solution on the visual scale:
- between the descriptions "none" and "very severe" you can measure the presence and severity of symptoms.
- you will be asked for symptoms which are typical for carbohydrate intolerance.
- You ingest the test substance, test food or solution which you have prepared.
- Every 30 minutes your alarm will remind you of the next symptom measurement.
- Test duration is 3 hours
- After the test you will be informed about results and recommendations.
